Weekend wrap 12/13 and 19/20 March

Weekend of 12th/13th March

Well done to Bern and Liz with their 36hr+ adventure race down at Gippsland last weekend.A combination of paddle/trek/run /mtn bike, crawling and orienteering saw the girls really rise to the challenge with their 3 male members. Racing in different teams, Bern’s team came in 2nd with Liz’s team an hour or so behind in 4th place. Biggest challenge I think was staying awake on the way home!

A mtn bike festival saw Simon and Virginie hit the slopes. I could only find the 50km trail ride results. Both coming 2nd in AG and Virginie was 2nd female overall.

Portarlington saw Jenny racing on home territory, coming out with a win in her AG, Declan raced strongly in the swim and on the bike for 6th place and Neil, the ever reliable, for a 3rd place.

Weekend of 19th/20th March

Team ‘ Lord’, also members of TRG, Had a an outstanding day!

Tom Rodgers, after a 6month break due to entering the work force, went in with a mission but knew he had a very tough job with Levi Maxwell heading down there as well. Levi was in great form being undefeated in a number of races. Tom came away with 1st place overall and was able to hold off Levi on the run. He did this by running an outstanding 1hr 15mins run – 2nd only to Levi. Congrats.

Great to to see Rosie back racing as well. 2nd female over the line and 1st in her AG in the Olympic distance event.

Dan Oldham raced well, with the big goal of running strongly. A much quicker run average than Geelong

Jordy had a very consistent race, 6th male over the line and fastest AG in the long course.

Tom Gallagher was able to come away with a 6th place in a very competitive AG.

Michael Begg continues to improve –strong finish overall in the males and 4th in his AG. His run leg once again really sees him jump up the field.

This was Sarah Hughes' last event of the year and to come 3rd over the line was a great result.

Alanam with the 5th fastest female bike time, really did impress. It was her one and only LC race for the season. In a very short time she packed in a lot and came away with 3rd place in her AG.

As we all know, Wendy 1st female overall in the Mt Koscioszko event!! Great job Wendy!
