. Weekend Racing Good luck to the following athletes for their races this weekend: Frank is off to race in IM Rosenburg, Germany, after 2 years off. He has been committed to his training, and is very well prepared for a big PB! All the best Frank. Neil is racing IM UK after a few months of illness and injury. As always, Neil will give it his best shot! There are also a number of athletes racing in the Sri Chinmoy event at Princes Park, so good luck to all. The coach will be there to show her support! 30km event - Martin, Michael, Mark, Rohan, Davvyn, Anna. Some are using this as a solid training session, while others will be pounding the pavement pretty hard. 21.1km - Daniella, Michelle, Jenny, Louis 10km - Jenny, Sarah, Simon, Jodie. Weekend News Congratulations to all athletes who ran Run Melbourne. The conditions on the day were tough, with a strong headwind for most of the run. Results are as follows: Martin Sime – 1.25 Michael Hill – 1.27 Both Marty and Michael had a good hit out, for Michael, in his lead up to IM Canada and Martin in preparation for the Melbourne Marathon. Jenny Hosking smashed her PB with a 1.53 and keeps improving every race. Greg I saw was running comfortably with his brother at the half way point. Paul Roberts come in around 1.23 - looking very strong all the way. Neil Gilberrt – very happy with his 2.19- before he heads off to the UK for the IM. Julie Lane just outside the 60mins for the 10km event. Louis – post marathon, came in under the 36mins for 10km, but certainly noticed the heavy legs towards the end! I saw Titch out there, which was fantastic, and also Shaun Mooney right up the front heading out for lap 2. I cannot forget the athletes that competed in the State Cross Country title. It was a freezing, windy and hilly cross country course in Bundoora on Saturday, but the 3 young guns had some great results. Brendan raced the 4km and came in 16mins, Jared raced over 6km and finished in 23mins and Tom had to step up to 8km in the under 20 event, and finished in around 30mins. Ben Franzi - race 12.18km and came in around 46mins, pacing quite evenly for the 4 laps. Rohan also raced buit I am yet to hear his time! Congratulations to Wade Zervaas who had a big weekend of racing, with both the State Cross Country title, in which he finished 8th in a time of 20:53 for 6km, as well as the team TT in Ballarat, racing for Caulfield Carnegie Cycling Club, in which he finished 3rd. Well done to everyone on a great weekend of racing! |
