Latest News & Results Well we have three Half Ironman Series champions amongst us as David Swan, Maureen Wilson and Neil Gilbert all won their age catagory. A sensational result. Neil Gilbert also came second in his catagory at Malaysia Ironman clocking a 14:43 (1:41 / 6:26 / 6:21) in some oppressive conditions. A great result for Neil to come 2nd in his age group at an International IM event- He was able to match it with the winner on the bike and in the swim but the other competitor ran a great 4.40. More impressive was that Neil came 285th out of 422 finishers with large number of DNF'ers. Joel Knott had a fast swim at Pier to Perignon – 41mins Donna had an amazingly tough day down at Apollo day with a number of competitors pulled form the water during the canoe Leg- Donna describe the conditions as VERY scary with a big swell and waves over 2ft- making paddling nearly impossible – to here credit she hung in there despite being on the verge of hypothermia- (unable to stop her teeth and jaw from chattering and shaking). What makes it worst was she had to run a girl down in the final stages of the event and then had this opponent challenge her in a sprint finish after competing for 5hhrs+- Sensational Job Donna Well done to all the BRW competitors- sounded like a lot of fun- Hopefully enjoyable for a few of the comeback triathletes in the Sq Sara Steen and Daniella Favero - competing for the 1st time this season. To training- sounded like all got through the BIG sessions of the weekend- athletes pacing them selves well and planning their nutrition as requested. Thanks to all those who supported one another out there I know it means a lot to the athletes who require assistance in difficult times!! Finally Good Luck to those off to New Zealand for the IM on Saturday - Clint Van Beveren, Michael Hill & Ben Griffin All 3 are in magnificent form and I am sure will have great races. Also racing are former TRG'ers Dan Thompson, Jodie Barker and Lance Purdon. Otway Classic - Bruno's Race Report How tough was the Otway Classic?
